These are not only fun to make, but also wonderful to eat. I made these for a bring and share party we had with colleagues from America. And boy, if you thought South Africans loved meat, you surely haven’t met Americans! I regretted why I didn’t make more as they kept asking for “some-more” haha 😀
Here’s the complete recipe of my Sweet-Chilli Sticky Wings:
- 20 chicken wings
- 1 1/2 cup spare rib marinade
- 1/2 cup extra hot sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 180C. Line the bottom of a roasting pan with foil/baking paper.
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a large bowl. Grab a spoon to help coat the wings. Gooi everything into the pan (but leave some sauce to baste the wings with), keep turning and basting the wings until the skin is sticky and wings cooked through (about 40-45 minutes). It’s up to you if you want to skewer the wings first and then pour the sauce over!
Serve with green salad (optional).
